already trying to think of great costume ideas...
so far everything I think of is from the ppk
things like
'give a shiitake, go vegan!' while dressed as a shiitake (body suit or shirt and pants that are a mushroom color and make an awesome hat like the cap)
if I were skinnier 'don't be an asparagus, go vegan!' of course dressed as an asparagus (also would involve a kick asparagus hat I really want to make anyway)
then of course it would be fun to go as a cowgirl riding a carrot, just for the excuse to buy a hat.
the possibilities are endless!
ETA: I just figured out reading my own post I must really want to buy/make a hat!

Of course this is happening 2 days after I go back to San Antonio for the summer. Looks like fun. Oh the costume possibilities.

That's cute! I don't think I can dress like a mushroom but I would carry that sign.

I've since revised to make a shirt that says that, wear with jeans (I know, I'm lame), but make a kick butt shiitake mushroom umbrella out of a paper umbrella I have from pearl river - I like to carry them in the summer months outside anyway because I burn. That way I also don't look crazy on the subway. Already excited and trying to salvage foam pieces (I also want my costume to be environmentally friendly because of...well one of the main purposes of the parade and veganism)

Balls. This is the same day as the AIDS walk (which I haven't committed to yet, but usually do). Maybe if I get to the AIDS walk early, I can head here after.

Oh no! I'm so committed to the AIDs walk, I go with my GSA kids and we raise a ton of money. That's sort of shiitake planning.

I am SO excited... except that my man's little sister is getting married the day before, so we'll be in Texas. However, there's a good chance they'll push ack the wedding, in which case, I'm SO THERE. I kinda want to go as an eggplant. No catchy slogan, I just think it'd be cute.
