A vegan food NaNoWriMo?

We've tried NaNoWriMo and failed NaNoWrimo. Why don't we pick something we won't fail at? I think cooking one thing we've never cooked a day or making up a new recipe a day - something like that or some combination of the two.

Edited to add: Oh, or we could do one piece of food writing a day even.

Re: A vegan food NaNoWriMo?

You could call it Vegan Gastronomy National Month of Food, VeGaNMoFo

Re: A vegan food NaNoWriMo?

Or just Vegan Month of food, so we can call it VegMoFo.

isn't NaNoWriMo, and thus FaNCyAcRoNyMVeGaNMoNTh, supposed to be some sort of challenge? Like, the fact that its not easy is the point.

You guys are cheating already! The thing is, we aim for once a day and whatever happens, happens. I love the VeganMoFo and the VegMoFo idea.

Re: A vegan food NaNoWriMo?

I plan on winning NaNoWriMo this year for the third year counting.  I'll be three for three, baby!

And just as further proof of my insanity?  I totally gave up at about . . . 27k but then on the second last day I decided I didn't want to give up after all and wrote the rest in one day.  I was finished a day early.

I'm weird.

I think you're the first person I've ever "met" that has completed it.

I failed the first year I tried, but I won last year, with about 10 minutes to spare. I'll be doing it again this year, so I don't think I'd have time for Veg MoFo, or whatever we're calling it.

I've won 4 years in a row! So it is possible. And yes, I'm doing it again this year.

Re: A vegan food NaNoWriMo?

I've thought about this and decided to give it a go.  Every day in November, I will make a food related post.

That would be less embarrassing if I had a job.

I would do NaNoWriMo, but I have serious issues about writing.

Re: A vegan food NaNoWriMo?

Couldn't it also be a long term goal?  Such as make 20 new recipes this month and create 5?
That way you don't have to do something every day, which seems impossible.  I would end up with too many leftovers.

Re: A vegan food NaNoWriMo?

Well, I just meant blog about food every day, even if I don't post a recipe or a good picture.  I've gotten really lazy with my food blogging lately, I need a kick in the asparagus.

Re: A vegan food NaNoWriMo?

I will totally participate in some way in VegMoFo
Tons of my HP friends are doing NaNoWriMo and I feel left out. I don't want to write a novel when someone tells me to, I want to do it on my own.

Go you!
I've tried the past 2 years, the first one I made it (never submitted the count, I still feel that counts though). The second I was going strong for about 5 days until it all fell apart.

I plan to do it again this year.

Re: A vegan food NaNoWriMo?

I'm planning to do NaNoWriMo. And I'm gonna succeed. Know why? 'Cause my thesis is due on December 15!

I'mma turn that procrastination to my advantage! For the record, my thesis has been written almost entirely on alternate Saturday afternoons, and I have Buffy night from 5 on Saturdays, and my thesis is 40,000 words minimum, and I'm on track. So it's all good. I may have to declare the beginning of December NaTheWriFo, but that's ok...

Can I quit my job and participate in both?

Yeah, I realized that today. It doesn't have to be an everyday thing.

Re: A vegan food NaNoWriMo?

is this on? i wanna play! unless/until i give birth, but that's at the end, anyway.

isa, are you going to make an official blog post with rules and everything? i enjoy official posts.

i also like the idea of one recipe a week that everyone makes (don't have to make it on the same day) and maybe tries to put their own spin on.

i like food.
