This might be fun for VeganMofo. It's basically picking a random recipe from Epicurious to veganize.
Go to epicurious.com and type in the name of the state you are in. For non-USers use the country you're in (any more specific and it might not work.)
After you search, the page that comes up will have a box to refine your search. It says "refine this search by..." Pick an item by doing an eeny-meeny-miney-mo with the hour of the day. So if it's around 6, count each item (there are only 8) until you reach 6. That is the category you'll be cooking in. Click it.
You'll get a little pop up that says "Select from the following." Do an eeny-meeny-miney-mo with your age. This might take a long time if you're old.
When you click that, you might have only one recipe, so that is your recipe to veganize (unless it's already vegan!) But if you have another list, then spell the day of the week out to get your recipe. So if it's Friday, you go F-R-I-D-A-Y, pointing at a recipe with each letter, and the one you land on with "Y" is yours.
Have fun!

I got "Anzacs" but they're already vegan. And they seem kinda hoo-hoo...they're "spa cookies". Im trying again later.

Where are you typing in the state? Either I'm blind or incredibly dense.. or both right now.
I see a sign in on the left, a search on the upper right and a 'find a recipe' in the middle.

Thank you! I think my brain is melting down or something.
I got Spicy Sausage Linguini, which sounds pretty good but really straight ahead. I may try again. Like tomorrow and sing along S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y night.
Cool idea, Isa.

Just tried this and got Oriental Chicken. And that is to easy, so I'll try again when I need to make something and am working on my list for the week. This might be fun. But what should I do if I get a fish recipe? I can't veganize that.

Proofs you belong back in NYC not PDX.
Anyway, I got Red Pepper Hummus. I almost made that yesterday! Easy! but i was too lazy to roast a red pepper (yeah, yeah) so i just made regular hummus.

I thought it would be funny to veganize some Sandra Lee recipes.

Oh, her kwanzaa cake (even though it's not kwanzaa) because that thing is hideous!

Tunatini?

I got poached pear sundaes. Sound yummy - but not exactly a challenge to veganize.

I got some shrimp and noodle dish. I was about to gag because I had to do it by cooking method. My method was boil and the one right above this was quail eggs.

You start by throwing that recipe away. Bacon and tomatoes (controversial!) don't belong in gumbo. It's almost offensive.

I guess I wasn't thinking things should be a challenge, just something fun to do.

Thanks, I've never made gumbo but I thought 1/2 pound of bacon was a strange ingredient to include.
I'll try again.
