I made some aromatic rings for my O-chem class recently. These are them:
I have more pictures and words about them on my blog, which is HERE.
The dough is loosely based on THIS very good recipe from the Vegan Hedonism Blog.
.... Aromatic rings! .... GET IT?!?
Oh man. Why was I born with this sense of humor? WHY?
Beyond food puns though- They were very tasty. For real.

yay benzene! Well, ingesting real benzene would not be this tasty, but those versions look amazing.

and 1 furan!
(I forked up and made a five membered ring somehow... so I had to give it a heteroatom to maintain its aromaticity!)

Oh, Susie, these are wonderful! And I do believe that fools like me would get so much more out of science classes if they were combined with baking. I have a friend (who's now a physics prof in Missouri) who gave me the most enjoyable science lesson of my life some years ago, making apple strudel with me & explaining all the things that were happening. I bookmarked your blog -- what great ideas you have! --Ellen

Thank you, everyone! Your comments have allowed me to worry less about my inability to make straight lines with pastry bags.
I love you too, supercarrot!
