So, watching coverage and commentary of the State of the Union address, and this flashes below in the whatchamacallit.
It was MSNBC, so I don't think it was meant as a snide (it would be if it were Fox News, because tofu hates freedom). It's just odd that used that as the marquee-worthy description would be vegan.

That is so cool that you took a picture in time!

democrat AND vegan.

Our next president! That is if Dems vote on the issues in the primary.

Speakng of Fox News
On the daily show yesterday, it had a clip of one of their jerkoff guys screaming "this is huge!" or something when it was mentioned that Obama went to a Muslim school (or something similar? Sorry, I wasn't paying enough attention) and the ticker at the bottom said "Obama drops bomb". I highly doubt that was by accident. They are trying to associate Obama with terrorism and their followers are dumb enough to believe it.

I just had a really good laugh over that. I'm going to start saying it.

Oh, and has anybody seen his wife? They're really cute together. She's tall, leggy, and beautiful and he looks like a muppet.

Why so negative?
I'll tell you this, if everyone who intended to vote in the primaries were given a list of where Obama, Clinton, Edwards, and Dennis stand on the issues, and it was clearly explained to them, I'm positive Dennis would win. He's the only one in line with Democratic values where as the others are playing politics and picking and choosing from those values. If the news networks were to go over this list as well, and thus allowing for people to be educated instead of getting them all hyped over, vote for Hillary so we can have a woman president BS, he’d win.
Look, he’s got a year to show people he truly is the best candidate, anything can happen. I wouldn’t write him off just yet. One of the largest misconceptions is he won’t appeal to “middle America” and the others can. Guess what? None of the Dems will appeal to “middle America”! None will pick off any “red states” aside from maybe New Mexico. Ohio is always up for grabs and whoever the Dems elect in the primary will win all of the states Kerry won and possibly Ohio allowing for them to take the White House. Dennis is from Ohio and I think he’d carry it. That is why he CAN be the next president.
The only way Dennis wouldn’t win if he wins the primary is if a RepubliPuke can pick off some of the states Kerry won and if they were to steal Ohio again. Not going to happen!

That's assuming everyone thinks like you do.

I like his politics too, but he's not above politicking. Did you notice him getting the super-handshake from Bush during the State of the Union?

I really don't think the women for president thing is BS (at least, any more than vegan for president hype is).

I wouldn't say it's as if someone thinks like I do, I would say it has to do with Dems wanting someone who closely represents their partys' values.
As far as the BS statement with regards to Clinton, I feel it is 100% BS for someone to vote for her just because she is a woman just as it would be 100% BS to vote for Dennis just becuase he is a vegan. People should vote on issues, not gender. I've heard people say they will vote for Clinton for no other reason other than the fact she is a woman. That is what I mean when I say BS.

The party values are pretty wide these days. There's the Lou Dobbs' democrats, the left-wing of the party (the ones that haven't jumped to the Green party), the centrists, the anti-Bush republicans, the "I hate the Republicans because of the civil war" blue dog Democrats. And remember, at *least* 98% of the Democratic party are meat eaters.

I really don't think that's the only reason people would vote for her, but I think it is likely a strong (and not invalid) benefit. I mean, I really don't think those same democrats would vote for Rice.

Because among the issues voters who vote on the issues will vote on is the issue of electability. Strategic voting is an endemic problem in elections of any kind, but it's particularly bad in first-past-the-post votes.
I'll tell you this, if everyone who intended to vote in the primaries were given a list of where Obama, Clinton, Edwards, and Dennis stand on the issues, and it was clearly explained to them, I'm positive Dennis would win.
I'm pretty confident that exposing voters to the Ludovico technique while watching campaign ads for the other candidates would also ensure a Kucinich victory, but I live on a planet called Earth.
As has already been said, I think you might be overestimating the degree to which the party faithful agree with you on the issues. Or the degree to which people vote on the issues in the first place.

Hmm, yes. I think it was NBC that was discussing how everyone still clamors around the president for autographs after the address. Cut to Dennis giving a big old handshake to Bush. I wonder if he got an autograph, too.
